about us
Fight for Lgbtq+ rights in African “Be Yourself“
Belonging to the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) community is still illegal in many countries across the world, including countries in Africa. This is a violation of human rights which cause people to face daily discrimination and violence. This project supports LGBTQ activism in Africa to achieve policy change but also to end homophobia at a community level. We are also dedicated to educating individuals on the stigmas they may face to increase safety and awareness.

Challenges
Members of the LGBTQ communities across Africa are at the early days of their fight compared to other countries. In some places, it is still illegal and therefore this project aims to support the communities in providing the resources to get their voice heard. One day everyone will live a life they are happy too and are included but until then we must continue to support projects like this one

projects
By providing assistance means to advocate for policy change we can ensure that nations comply with the human rights related to LGBTQ rights. This will provide a platform for all to have the rights to work on a local level to educate children to achieve behavioural change. Once people have the right to be themselves, the need for international protection will be reduced, and people won’t be denied basic amenities due to their orientation.

AWARENESS & solutions
By partnering with local LGBTQ advocacy groups we will be financially supporting the local LGBTQ community by providing capacity building needed to continue to mobilise their initiatives and run their organisation efficiently. Through donations, Action Change will provide LGBTQ advocates with resources to market their message on a local and global level to raise awareness within the nation but also to advocate for policy change.
